Locks of Luxury was founded by Sarah “Sarah Black” Alleyne, a passionate hair enthusiast and entrepreneur. In late 2010, Sarah began researching hair extensions, weaves and wigs and found that the multi billion dollar hair and personal care industry was dominated by African American consumers. Sarah reflected on her family and friends’ hair and personal care purchasing habits and realized the quality of products did not match the luxury price tag. Sarah then realized that she had the ability to make a difference by providing quality hair that currently were not at her local beauty supply stores.

Sarah developed Locks of Luxury in 2011 by becoming more educated about the hair industry, products, and consumers. Sarah also met with suppliers and consumers to carefully test products and research opinions and preferences. During this phase of her research, Sarah found that hair consumers wanted the best quality hair and at an affordable price. Sarah decided to move forward with the business and launched later that same year! Since then, Locks of Luxury has continued to gain recognition in the Tampa, FL area, such as sealing the nomination for 2016 Small Business of the Year, and are proudly known as the quality provider for beautiful bundles, competitive prices, and unmatched customer service.
